It is not suitable for forging and exposing the tool to high heat. It is 4" high, so you would need a little more height for your hands. It comes with a harder head for sheet metal. It does not have a dead blow to the head attachment. The product has received positive reviews from customers who have used it to remove stubborn exhaust manifold studs and install t-slot extrusions for aluminum where the hard rubber tip did not damage the aluminum.
