However, compatibility can be an issue with some controllers, as it may not work well with old keypads or Genesis controllers. It does work well with Hyperkin Ranger controllers. For those in PAL countries, there may be additional compatibility issues, but it is hoped that these will be resolved in the future. The included cartridge may not display games properly, and some old cartridges may not load or play on the system. It is recommended to buy an aftermarket joystick as the official Atari one may be out of stock. The instructions are minimal, but the dip switch settings for the included cartridge are on the cartridge sleeve, so make sure not to discard it. Overall, the Atari 2600 offers a great gaming experience and can also play vintage games. It is a good gift option, but may be harder for young kids to control compared to a Nintendo controller. It is a 1-to-1 remake of the original Atari 2600, with added quality of life features.
