It can be used to connect a fax machine with a 3CX PBX and Twilio SIP Trunk, while providing an amazing level of customization. However, if you are new to VoIP, it may be a bit intimidating. Users must make sure their VoIP provider offers a walkthrough for the Grandstream. The device can be setup via a web browser, which is incredibly convenient. It has built-in security issues and connected it through a LAN sniffer revealed it sent packets to Hanoi and attempted to do some non-standard things on port 123. If you are worried about security, the device can be locked to your specific VoIP provider's IP address. It has a primitive router portion and is only useful if the box is the actual router where other devices can be attached. Firmware updates are available, and users should be sure to take their time with the web interface and set passwords for both levels of access.
