Lippert Components Truck Bed Toolboxes 664640 Editorial Review
The Lippert Components - 664640 SolidStep Storage Box is a black, water-resistant cargo box that can be mounted to an 8 inch I beam. Some customers were able to install it on a 7-1/2 inch I beam. The manufacturer recommends checking for the correct frame rail size before installation. The opening dimensions are not provided but customers recommend measuring the item to be stored and checking with the manufacturer. The box can be attached to the lid for a step light and wiring can be run inside the door lip for additional protection. One customer did not use the manufacturer's installation instructions but instead used the bolts to remove the stairs. Overall, the product received positive reviews with customers citing its sturdiness and extra storage space as big Pros. The main con mentioned was the lack of proper installation instructions and the need for an 8 inch I beam, which was not mentioned on the product page and caused some inconvenience for customers.
