This device doesn't require an internet connection or Wi-Fi to operate. It comes with an outdoor sensor that can withstand harsh weather conditions. There is also an optional battery backup (3 AA batteries) for time/date display in event of power failure. The indoor display unit plugs into a standard electrical outlet. The device features a bright, easy-to-read display that is illuminated on command. Generally, users enjoy using this device. The device is easy to set up, and they find the readings to be accurate. The moon and other features are appreciated by users. The only complaints come from users who find the clock feature is too small to read or is inaccurate. One user experienced a problem with batteries, contact, and limited functionality. A few users have experienced colder readings than expected, but the manufacturer provided a recommendation to change the outdoor sensor batteries, which seem to work. One user received the product already opened, with no documentation, and scratches on the screen. They thought it was returned and resold to them for full price.
