The "Mastering Embedded Linux Programming" book is a great primer for those new to embedded Linux programming, but it doesn't teach much programming. It is a useful reference for many projects and teaches readers how to set up embedded Linux and the tools needed for that. The book’s approach helps readers builds their own Linux distro as if it was an application. However, there is some inConsistency with what chapters require a BeagleBone and what needs an RPI 4 for following the content. The book is an excellent introduction to Embedded Linux Programming concepts, but the title is somewhat misleading, and only one chapter covers the actual programming aspect of the book, adding an application written in Python. Overall, the book contains a good mix of “here’s what is happening” and “how to get things done” content.
