Fantasy Flight Games Board Games DJ21 Editorial Review
The Descent Second Edition: Verminous Lieutenant expansion has garnered a generally positive reception from customers, particularly for its ability to enhance the gameplay experience of the Descent series. Players appreciate the addition of new content, including unique skills for the Overlord and the introduction of new monsters and heroes, which enriches the overall gameplay. The additional Threat and Fortune mechanisms also provide more strategic depth, allowing for a more dynamic gaming session. However, there are notable criticisms regarding the lack of a figurine for the lieutenant included in the package. Many customers have expressed dissatisfaction about having to purchase these miniatures separately, feeling it detracts from the overall value of the expansion. Furthermore, frustrations arose from a lack of clarity in the product description regarding compatibility with the base game or its expansions, leading to concerns among players who wanted to ensure they were buying the correct components. Despite these issues, the aesthetic appeal of the new models, along with the opportunity to paint them, has been highlighted by some reviewers, adding a layer of enjoyment for hobbyists. Players seem to agree that these expansions are beneficial for enhancing the tabletop experience, making them a worthwhile investment for fans of the series. **
