Drama Editorial Review
**** "Poor Things" presents an ambitious and visually stunning reimagining of the classic Frankenstein narrative, intertwining themes of sexuality, femininity, and societal norms through a darkly comedic and satirical lens. Emma Stone's performance stands out, receiving both praise and criticism for the sheer intensity and extent of her role, which involves confronting taboos around sexuality and identity. Critics have lauded her talent, but not without backlash from viewers who feel her participation in the film detracts from her previous esteemed status. The film is undeniably provocative, featuring graphic scenes that may alienate some audiences, yet it retains a unique artistic style that invites viewers into its surreal narrative. The cinematography and set design are described as enchanting, captivating those who appreciate a distinct and imaginative aesthetic. However, the story's complexity can lead to moments of confusion as the plot weaves through various themes. While some viewers find this challenging and disengaging, others embrace the unconventional narrative, encouraging open-mindedness towards its unique storytelling approach. Ultimately, "Poor Things" seeks to challenge societal norms and provoke thought. It walks a fine line between artistic expression and viewer comfort, making it a divisive film that will resonate deeply with some and leave others perplexed. Those looking for a bold and unconventional cinematic experience may find it rewarding, but it's certainly not for everyone. **
