The KAC1500 winch has a wired remote and operates with Power In/Power Out capabilities. The mounting bracket can be modified, but the original bolts are 9/16" and there is a 2-1/2 inch distance from the bottom of the top bolt hole to the top of the bottom bolt hole. The wired remote can be extended by an electrician. The winch has a manual hand override, but the handle could use improvement. It cannot be adapted to a wireless remote. It is unclear if parts are available. In terms of customer reviews, there are mixed experiences. Some found the winch to work great and found it tough, while others experienced poor quality and burn out within an hour of use. One customer found the spooling to be uneven, and another found the winch to bog down after light duty use. There was a comparison to a Warn winch in terms of quality, with the KAC1500 being found lacking in comparison. Overall, the winch seems to work well for its specified uses, but there are quality concerns that may detract from its longevity.
