"From a well-received series about a gentle travelogue through a fantasy world, Frieren's story takes a darker and more intense turn in this volume, with a school exam that can result in death. The characters' concept of time is explored nicely, and readers are eager to see how the various mages interact. Although not the next big franchise like Dragon Ball or Naruto, the relatable characters and fantastic writing make this one of the most refreshingly original manga series in recent years. However, some readers have received damaged books that were not in new condition, affecting their overall experience. Despite this, the series continues to captivate with its compelling storyline and endearing characters."
