The masher plate is sturdy and does the job of mashing potatoes well. The softly rounded sides prevent any potatoes from escaping, and the holes are not too large, so there is no over-mashing necessary. While it takes some effort to clean out all the holes, overall, it is very easy to clean. The foldable design is a great concept, making it easy to store away. However, some users have reported that there is no locking or fastening mechanism to keep the handle and masher perpendicular to one another, causing the handle to move Constantly while working through a batch of potatoes. As such, some users prefer to use a traditional masher.
