Optronics Tail Light Assemblies ST16RS Editorial Review
The Optronics ST16RS 7-Function Waterproof 80 Tail Light has received a mix of praise and criticism from customers, revealing a nuanced reception of this product. Many users appreciate the ease of installation and the straightforward design of the tail light, noting its direct compatibility as a replacement for original equipment. Customers have highlighted its functionality in providing essential lighting features such as running, marker, brake, and directional lights. The fact that it uses standard automotive bulbs instead of LEDs is Considered a positive aspect, as this allows for easier replacement if and when the bulbs fail—a common complaint with LED lights. However, a recurring issue has been the sealing of the unit against water intrusion, particularly for those who frequently use their trailers in wet conditions. Several reviews indicate that users experienced water accumulation inside the light housing, necessitating additional measures such as sealing and applying dielectric grease to mitigate corrosion and future water damage. This has led some to seek upgrades to LED alternatives after dealing with frustrations related to the Optronics product. Overall, while the Optronics ST16RS tail light is often praised for its compatibility and ease of use, users have expressed concerns regarding its waterproofing capabilities and reliability in aquatic environments. **
