The VB-MAPP is based on B.F. Skinner’s behavioral analysis of language, the principles of Behavior Analysis, and typical developmental milestones. This assessment tool offers a com¬prehensive and evidenced-based approach that can help identify a child’s language needs, and potential learning barriers that may be impedinga child’s language acquisition progress. In addition, the VB-MAPP providesdirection for developing an individualized language intervention program if necessary. Each VB-MAPPFull Set contains 1 Instructor’s Guide and 1 Individual child Protocol.The Guide contains a description of how to use Skinner's analysis of verbal behavior for language assessment, as well as instructions and tips for administering the VB-MAPP Milestones, Barriers, and Transition assessments.In addition, the Guide contains a detailed section on placement, along with suggestions for IEP goals for each skill area.
