Drama Editorial Review
Somersault is a poignant drama that delves into the complexities of adolescent emotions and relationships. The film follows a young woman, Heidi, portrayed by Abbie Cornish, who navigates her tumultuous journey through self-discovery as she runs away from home. The director, Cate Shortland, masterfully captures the essence of growth and turmoil, making for a compelling narrative. Reviewers have praised Cornish's mesmerizing performance, remarking on her ability to convey both vulnerability and depth. Despite some noted pacing issues, audiences appreciate the film's exploration of difficult themes and its character-driven story, making it a worthwhile watch for those seeking a different cinematic experience.
