The stands are designed to alter the speaker axis without disturbing the stand below, allowing for greater precision when aiming and locking in the room correction configuration software. They also provide a solid foundation for studio monitors, with a channel that can be filled with sand or another ballast material to anchor them to the floor. The stands are ideal for placing the vertical speaker axis 18” above the listener for optimal sound dispersion, and the precision angular elevation feature is an acceptable alternative for this application. The stands are well-built, and after filling them with sand, the additional ballast, in combination with the rubber spike covers on their feet, make them genuinely heavy and ‘anchored’ on wood floors. The acoustic mass provided by the ballast changes the quality of resonance favorably, producing high-quality sound.
